Yuri Vatkin “Summer Salon”

The gallery resumes its program “Seasonal Salons” with paintings by Yuri Vatkin, created from 2010 to 2018.

For the Municipal Gallery Yuri Vatkin is an old acquaintance whose exhibitions and projects have been repeatedly shown since 2011 both within the walls of the gallery itself and in its touring programs. Among the joint exhibition events of the gallery and the artist are the following: participation in the International Art Festivals Art Kyiv Contemporary (2011, 2013, 2014); Kyiv Art Week (2016); personal project at the Shcherbenko Art Center (2013); participation in the Czech-British online project “ArtEX500” (2017-2018).

The audience knows and loves Yuri Vatkin’s acrylic painting, which is notable for its bold dimensions, rich colors, breadth of plastic moves, free abstract manner and bright decorative effect, which fits so well into modern interiors.

The works presented at the exhibition are provided mainly from the funds of the VOVATANYA gallery and the Municipal Gallery. The previously announced metal series of the artist was not included in the retrospective display of his work; viewers were able to see it in full at the Mechanika Art Plant in 2019 during a music festival dedicated to metal rock.
