24.10.2018 @ 1:00 pm - 13.11.2018 @ 6:00 am

24th October at 18:00 at the Art-basement gallery in Kharkov the project “Subjective. Now ” by Lviv artist Roksolana Uhryniuk will be presented.

The artist has been researching for over a year the influence of fears and social patterns on her decisions and actions. The project “Subjective. Now” is part of this observation study. Through the prism of her experience, she examines the issues of “parents and children – the generational bridge”, “finding the true self” and “footprint in history”. In the project, the author experiments with combining objects of everyday life and video documentation of performances, emphasizing hidden feelings and looking for new contexts and metaphors.

“I am constructing a recognizable but multiple-meaning image that legitimizes subjective silenced feelings. Consciousness paralyzed by fear, when procrastination and desire to hide from the world are overwhelming. Moments of destructive behavior and devastating loneliness. Elusive moments of weakness become tools for manipulation and persecution. For the others, these are “production waste”, “defects”, since they do not fit the accepted norms. The crucified truth. “

Roksolana Uhryniuk works with performance, video, land art, objects. Participant of many performance festivals, symposia, residences. She is also a participant at the School of Performance in 2015-2018. Co-founder of the performative project ZABIH.
