AUGUSTINE CASTILLA-AVILA “STILL-LEBEN MIT STILLE”.
21.08.2018 @ 6:00 pm - 27.08.2018 @ 7:00 pm

The project exhibited at the Municipal Gallery is designed to contemplate the signs of music and focuses on the graphic manifestation of the image of NO-sound in the musical text. Not in the sense of music set in the graphic signs of notation, but its “sounding” in the heart of the viewer.
Creating a sense of music as an action in silence is the main objective of the project.
According to the author’s design, an important element of any composition is the importance it attaches to notation of musical signs, through which the text of the music reveals its historical and practical face. Works that have a graphic representation “sound” in those “musical remnants” notes, which are organized into a series of visual texts, now presented to the audience.
In this series, the author imitated the polyphonic processes of musical expression. This is a situation of polyphony. Since “Poly-Phony” means many sounds, the author likes to call them “Polysiopy”. After all, “Polysiopy” can also be described as an internal voice polyphony.
Sounds sketched on paper and orchestrated as graphic symbols come across as a kind of still life. However, this kind of creative activity overtakes the viewer’s consciousness as a means to focus on a certain instrumentalization of silence. “Still-Leben mit Stille” (“Still Life with Silence”) focuses on voices and sounds in one’s own mind. This project reflects a growing global interest in meditation and in life itself — as a reaction to the world getting louder and louder.
Through these elements, through the graphic side of music the author attempts to stimulate with these works the audience’s imagination, reminding them that fantasy is the most human wealth which we inherited from nature.
This inheritance appears to be the greatest difference between humans and other members of the universe!
