Philipp Moderson is a German artist and sculptor who lives and works in Berlin.

Moderson’s work is a reflection of geological processes such as erosion and sedimentation. The material foundation of his sculptures (sand, concrete, metal, or glass) — usually forms a stone that transforms into different physical states. Moderson’s work can be viewed as both an object and a process. Ambivalent objects relate, on the one hand, to global natural phenomena and on the other hand witness to the role of man in their creation. However, the final forming of the objects is not determined by the artist, it appears in the process of creation.
