“Laboratory Work”

The project was demonstrated in the winter of 2017-2018 at the National Art Museum of Ukraine. It’s theme is the creation of an exhibition — a complex process that takes more effort and time than the exposition itself. Artists consider the question whether the exhibition proper and the process of its preparation are a fully valid artistic expression.

Olga Fedorova traced and revealed the internal “kitchen” of the project with the help of a collage of texts: correspondence of the team working on the “HA City” on social networks; stages of the development of the idea, the complexity of working on it, and the role of communication in creating a large cultural product.
Anton Tkachenko showed new and existing artifacts. They are all about the fact that the “HA City” is not only curators, artists and paintings, but also the city itself, the Municipal Gallery, work on the exhibition and countless other elements that form a single whole. Using his distinct style of “legend telling”, the author creates a Kharkov myth which includes real and made-up stories.
All this was supposed to engage the audience in joint work on the project “HA City”.
