THE OPENING OF THE 2nd BIENNALE OF YOUNG ART!

Friends! We are glad to invite you to the opening of the 2nd National Biennale of Young Art, which will take place from September 17 to October 31 in Kharkiv.

The main events of the opening day:

– 18:00-18:45 — OFFICIAL OPENING on the stairs of the 5th Entrance of the Derzhprom (State Industry Building), attended by artists, the curators’ group, the organizing committee, and the Minister of Culture of Ukraine.

– 19:00-20:30 — WELCOME DRINK by Vina Mira (Wines of the World) – Official page, INTRODUCTION TO 28 PROJECTS of the Main Program and communication with the artists and curators: the historic building of KHARKIV HOTEL (to enter follow navigation signs behind the city cafe KHAREK).

 

One of the main program projects will be located in the 5th entrance of the Derzhprom (State Industry Building), where UA:Kharkiv, the local branch of UA:Public Broadcasting, the national partner of the project, is located.

Also from 18:00 the exposition will be opened at the YermilovCentre (11 projects from the main program) and in the courtyard of the Observatory, Institute of Astronomy, Kharkiv V.N. Karazin National University.

Projects from the main program can also be seen: from 10:00 to 17:00 — in the Botanical Garden (52, Klochkivska str.)

The total number of the projects in the main program is 45, they are projects of artists from all parts of Ukraine which follow this year’s theme of the Biennale — “It looks like I am entering our garden”.

The Biennale of Contemporary Art was established by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. It was first held in 2017 in Kyiv, under the name the Festival of Young Artists.

The main organizer of the 2nd Biennale of Young Art is the Municipal Gallery.

The main organizational partners are the YermilovCentre for Contemporary Art and the Bagels & Letters PR agency.

The legal partner and ambassador of the project is the law firm ILF.

The Biennale is created by:

Design – 3Z studio, exhibition architecture – Forma Architectural Studio.

COME IN art gallery, Kharkiv Literature Museum, Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts (HudpromLoft) are locations and partners of the Biennale.

Cluster 1:

Kharkiv Hotel, the Derzhprom Building, Yermilov Center, the University Observatory at the Institute of Astronomy, Kharkiv V.N. Karazin National University, COME IN art gallery (parallel program project) and, a few blocks away, the University Botanical Garden.

Cluster 2:

Municipal Gallery (parallel program project), Kharkiv Art Museum XXM (parallel and main program projects), the Historical Museum (parallel program), Kharkiv Literature Museum (main, parallel and educational programs), and children’s program projects at HudpromLoft, Aza Nizi Maza studios, D16 art lab and basements in the Opera and Ballet Theater.
