We are opening the exhibition year at the Municipal Gallery with a project of the Kharkiv monumental artist Viktor Pogorelov. The Antinomy project comprises his new works which continue the concept of his previous exhibitions: “Puzzles”, “Relief”, and “Allusions”. In his new project, the artist continues to deal with the problems of mankind and society, their interpenetration and contradiction, forms his vision of the world of people, the search for meaning, ways of overcoming and inner struggling. Some works develop these ideas, others enter the dialogue and interpret these images in a different way. Through associative visual-plastic images the artist shows his attitude to events that happen in the world of a strong person who is drawn into the whirlpool of other people’s activities, who resists and makes extra efforts, sometimes utterly meaningless…

Viktor Pogorelov – Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts.

Graduated from the Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts (studio of Professor Boris Kosarev).

Viktor has had personal exhibitions in Ukraine and the USA. He made sketches and thematic paintings in many universities, academies, libraries in Ukraine. His paintings are kept in public and private collections in Ukraine, Canada, USA, Mexico, China, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, and Russia.
